Job profile: Investment Project Manager

OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB
This role is responsible for ensuring that the Fund receives a sound flow of applications. It is
responsible for leading and supporting applicants through the initial phase of the funding process
whilst supporting the Fund’s fiduciary responsibilities.
The position will represent the Fund in providing the human interaction with applicants beyond
what the SPIF online Management Information System will offer.
It is responsible for ensuring:
• effective promotion of the Fund, its criteria and processes and contractual terms and
conditions
• a smooth application process for the applicant
• a thorough screening of the applicant for the Fund,
• that Funding criteria is met,
• that compliance is acceptable as per the Fund’s requirements
• that a comprehensive training needs analysis is conducted in order to understand the
Entrepreneur’s/Employee’s training deficits
• that the applicant is kept informed throughout the process
The role will be executed based on a pre-determined target (monthly and annual), that will be
integral to the Performance Contract for this post.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promoting the Fund to specific target clients/groups
• Key front-end client interface. Functions include:
o Orientating the client on the Fund’s application process, eligibility and
compliance requirements
o Client initial screening
o Client enrolment
o Application management
o Compliance vetting
o Training needs analysis
o Communicating the Fund’s loan proposal to the applicant
o To be the single point of contact from the application stage through to
project completion.
o Supporting the applicant in overcoming whatever information deficits
exists.
• Undertake effective project information management, that is, ensure timely and
efficient:
o Data acquisition
o Data verification and sign off
o Filing and reporting

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications
• Minimum undergraduate degree (NQF 7) in Project Management, Business Development related
degree.
• At least two years of work experience in a similar role.
Competencies
• Ability to manage a project from initiation to completion.
• Ability to appraise a project and ascertain its viability.
