Sales Executive

Position Overview

The Sales Executive will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and
capitalising on new B2B opportunities within the Mining and Logistics industry with a track
record of closing deals. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the South
African Mining sector, along with a proven track record of successfully selling technology
solutions and services to mines. This role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking,
relationship-building, and sales expertise to achieve ambitious sales targets across multiple
customer segments.

 

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to generate leads & close deals.
  • Design customer solution (i.e., how our system will be deployed to suit customer need)
  • Ability to present the platform at executive level.
  • Mining background and SADC experience will be an advantage, software technical knowledge.

Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a comprehensive Sales strategy:
• Generate new business and build a robust sales pipeline from new and existing
Customers:
o Identification and engagement with key decision-makers with Customers to understand their requirements and pain points.
o Present and demonstrate the value proposition of our weighbridge automation software, hardware, and support services.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and clients, providing ongoing support and addressing inquiries.
o Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.

• Lead the sales process:
o Develop, present and negotiate sales proposals, contracts, and pricing agreements tailored to the specific needs of Customers, including examining any potential risks and                                    upside for business opportunities.

o Writing proposals, coordinating RFI and RFI responses.

o Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of solutions, support services, and exceed customer expectations.

o Conduct regular sales forecasting, track performance metrics, and provide timely reports to senior management.
o Enhances the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

o Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape:
o Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the mining industry.
o Leverage market intelligence to refine sales strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences:
o Participate in trade shows, conferences, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
o Deliver engaging presentations and participate in panel discussions to position the company as a thought leader.

Requirements and skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, Sales, marketing, finance,
or a related field. A relevant technical degree may also be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Sales within the Mining or Information
Technology sector, preferably with a focus on technology solutions.
• Proven ability in closing Technology sales, preferably in the mining industry,
demonstrable success selling SaaS solutions at start-ups as well as larger organizations,
dealing with multiple levels, including C-level stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new
business opportunities, with demonstrated ability to work independently and meet or
exceed sales targets.
• Understanding of the South African mining sector, including its operational challenges,
key players, and regulatory landscape.
• Familiarity with automation software, hardware, and support services is highly
desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering
solutions that exceed expectations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with proven ability to
articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to develop and execute a strategic sales plan, including strong analytical skills
to identify market opportunities and devise effective sales strategies.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively
communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to generate leads & close deals.
• Design customer solution (i.e., how our system will be deployed to suit customer
need)
• Ability to present the platform at executive level.
• Deal with all correspondence and documentation in the English language
• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships based on trust and
exceptional service.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, including product development,
support, and implementation, to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project
delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and
influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a sales team
if required.
• Willingness to travel frequently within South Africa to meet with clients and attend
industry events.
• Must be proficient in MS Office and CRM Software
